India to UK flights will resume from 6 January

State-run carrier Air India has opened booking for flights from India to UK. The flight services to Britain will resume from 6 January. “Booking for Air India flights between India & UK is open now,” Air India said in a tweet. Note that these flights are in addition to the regular flights. The booking is open through the Air India website, booking offices, Call Centre, and Authorised Travel Agents.

On January 6, 2021, the airline will operate two flights to London Heathrow — one each from Mumbai and Delhi. On January 7, Air India flights are scheduled from London Heathrow to Delhi and Mumbai.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday clarified that flights from India to the UK will restart from January 6 while air travel from Britain to India will be allowed from January 8 onwards. As many as 30 flights will operate every week — 15 each by Indian and UK carriers. This schedule is valid till January 23, the minister added. Flights will be allowed from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad only till January 23.

  • Mumbai-London Heathrow
  • Delhi-London Heathrow
  • London Heathrow-Mumbai
  • London Heathrow-Delhi
  • Mumbai-London Heathrow
  • London Heathrow-Mumbai

Air India, Vistara, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have been allowed to operate 30 weekly flights between the UK and these 4 metros till January 23 after which the frequency will be reviewed by the government.
