Britain has finally revoked its additional Covid -19 rules. The UK has stated that there will be no quarantine for Indian students from October 11. Indian students who have been completely vaccinated with Covishield will be able to skip the mandatory quarantine.
Off late, tensions between the British High Commissioner and the Indian Government have been running high regarding this issue. This decision comes as a relief to hundreds of students who thought it was an unnecessary Covid-19 restriction.
How will this Benefit Indian Students?
No quarantine for Indian students will help aspirants to have a smooth onboarding journey. They will no longer need to quarantine for 10 days at extra costs. It will also facilitate communication between the two countries, as pointed out by the British High Commissioner Alex Ellis. A whopping 3200 Indian students have been accepted in UK universities in 2021. The no quarantine for Indian students rule will aid aspirants to find suitable accommodation on their immediate arrival.
Simultaneously, the row between India and Britain has been brought to an end. Alex Ellis even thanked the Indian Government for close cooperation.
